The Perth Podiatrists uses the latest technology, a Zebris Gait Analysis System, for accurate assessments of your gait running or walking. The Zebris System is an advanced piece of medical equipment with various applications that can be used to optimise your running and measuring pressure changes under the foot.

What is the Zebris Gait Analysis System?

The Zebris System uses millions of pressure sensors in its belt that can operate at a walking pace or at high-speed running. The Zebris System integrates the pressure sensors with two high speed synced cameras, providing an accurate measurement of pressure related to your gait pattern, which is recorded for later data analysis. Using the Zebris System allows for an accurate assessment, actionable changes and a tailored treatment plan in your running or walking, footwear or orthotics, optimising your potential outcomes accurately and reliably.

FAQs

  • Wear active wear that you feel comfortable walking or running in that does not restrict your movement, such as gym leggings, shorts, tee shirts. We need to see your lower legs, knees and hips.

  • No, the Zebris Running Analysis System is a medical grade treadmill that can be used for various settings including assessments on people walking.

  • Once you are warmed up and either at your normal running or walking speed, we only require 30 seconds of recording to obtain a detailed analysis. However, your consultation may take 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the complexity of presenting problems.

  • No, stretching is not required prior to your assessment. If you are receiving a running analysis, we ask you to run for 3 - 5 minutes on the treadmill to warm up prior to recording any information and in the case of walking normally 2-3 minutes is sufficient. If you attend a running analysis, we may ask you to do a repeated run.

  • A Zebris Analysis is only completed at our Duncraig Location. Please call 08 9447 4488 to book an appointment. At your appointment, a comprehensive 1-hour assessment will be undertaken, which will include any relevant history, discussion on presenting injuries, your footwear and current training and your Zebris Assessment, highlighting areas for improvement and a treatment plan provided if required.
